IWD'2018 Mega Meetup, Adobe, Noida

Posted on 14th March | Author - Neha Sharma

This IWD [Internationl Women Day] many communities of Delhi/NCR came forward to celebrate the women in tech by conducting the Mega meetup at Adobe, Noida.

This was the biggest collaboration of the communities. The only vision of this meetup is to encourage and bring women in tech or want to be in tech in one room. This event was free to attend but by invite only. It was also open for too men but women got the preference, obviously.

Adobe, Noida was the venue and food/snacks sponsor. I always keep telling that when tech companies come forward to support the communities great things happen. This meetup is the proof of same.

Organisers had a hard time to select the attendees as the seats were limited and registration response was very high.

The agenda of the meetup was very interesting. 3 talks of 30 mins on diverse topics of the Industry. Followed by lighting talks, communities introductions and yes loads of food by Adobe.

Tech Speakers of the Day

I was one of the speaker in the event. I talked on Javascript and about my community JSLovers. The vibe of the event was very awesome. I have never seen such huge crowd of females in Delhi/NCR. Everyone was self motivatied and wanted to do something good in technology. I got the chance to connect with many aspiring female developers and they shared that how they are into opensource world , learning new things, mentoring the juinors and doing research. For me as a speaker connecting with so many great girls was a good learning.

The best part of the meetup was - Lighting Talks. Attendees were submitting their lighting talk on the spot and organisers selected 10 out of them to present on the stage.

Each lighting talk was very interesting and anyone can see the passion of the developers working on that the way they were talking about their work , projects developed by them. The lighting talk was very diverse not just in terms of females but also wrt topics - from Machine Learning to IOT there was something for everyone.
